Q: What year were you born? A: I was born on Tuesday, December 21, 1954 in New Orleans, La. My mother was the first woman to have a natural childbirth in the Baptist Hospital. I’m a Sagittarius on the cusp of Capricorn and Capricorn is also my rising sign. So I’m fiery and grounded!  

Q: How did you get into the adult industry? A: I got into the adult industry on a whim, basically. I had been laid off for the umpteenth time, staring at my bills and I came across an ad that said I could make a lot of cash doing this. I kind of thought that since I don’t look like the typical porn star and wasn’t young that I would show up for the interview and give someone a good laugh. It was almost to my surprise that I booked a job immediately.  

Q: Where did you grow up? A: I grew up in New Orleans and Baton Rouge. When I was in my thirties, I moved to Atlanta for 8 years. Those are the only places I’ve ever lived before moving to LA fifteen years ago. I love LA! I really fit into the California lifestyle. I didn’t know until I moved here that they call it the “Southland.” I guess I have to keep it in the South! I spent forty years of my life as a brunette, my natural color, and I love being a blonde. They say it’s a requirement for living here, I’ve heard. I tried to go back to brunette once and no one liked it. All my friends missed the blonde me. It’s me. And who says the carpet has to match the drapes?

Q: Do you have any pets? A: I love animals! I have 2 male cats that are my children. Ricky and Joey. Ricky was a stray, and Joey was adopted from a shelter. They look like brothers. It’s so cute. I have a million pictures of them because they do something that looks adorable every day.  

Q: What are your hobbies? A: Is cooking a hobby? It’s kind of a necessity in a way. I cook every day almost. I exercise too, more now than ever. Another necessity/hobby. Last year I just decided to "get real" and lose 30 pounds and I've kept it off.  So counting calories is also a hobby now. One of these days, it’s on my bucket list, I’m going to take race car driving lessons. And maybe write a diet book for the woman over 50 who needs chocolate, likes her wine, and wants to eat every 2-3 waking hours!

Q: Where would you like to travel that you haven’t been to yet and why? A: Believe it or not, I was a travel agent in my twenties. I thought it would be fun and I’d go everywhere! I didn’t realize I’d be stuck in an office, planning other people’s trips more than my own. I’d love to go to Bora Bora because it’s so beautiful and I love islands. I’m going to be living the island life when I’m older.

Q: Are there any “misconceptions” that you’d like to clear up? A: Yes, sure, there are! But in a more personal manner, I’ve seen things on the internet about me that weren’t accurate and I’d like to set the record straight, beyond what I’ve mentioned above. There is only one “alias” that I’ve ever had under another name: Jannice. You will find me by that name on http://auntjudys.com and http://www.olderwomen.com It came about because when I first started in the industry, the agent that I had at the time “forgot” my porn name when the photographer called him and just made up “Jannice.” So forevermore when I do that site, and every time I fill out paperwork for every job and the question comes up, “Have you ever gone by any other name?” I have to fill in “Jannice.” Actually, it kinda sucks ‘cause some people really like “Jannice” and don’t know about Erica Lauren. I’ve seen where people have said that I have an alias, “Casey Clover” but she is another adult actress. I’m only guessing the confusion may have started with M.I.L.T.F. Mothers I'd Like To Fuck 11. If you look around on the internet, you’ll find scene screenshots of me in scene 2, yet I’m not credited anywhere on the cover. You’ll notice Casey as the largest picture on the cover, but I don’t seem to see a scene screenshot. And then there’s My Friend's Mom Is a Hottie that was released about a year later which “recycled” the scene from  M.I.L.T.F. 11 and again I’m uncredited, Casey’s on the cover, and I’m in scene screenshot scene 1.

There are a couple of websites (ericalauren.com and ericalauren.net) that I am not involved with. Other individuals grabbed these domains when I first started, and while I’ve contacted them to get these domains for myself, one individual won’t respond and the other is what I’d consider to be unreasonable. It does feel rather strange though knowing other people profit off of your name. But moving on, I’m going to focus on having a really fun website right here and I really like the domain name ericalaurenxxx.com because it really says it all!

Q: You always seem to be happy. What’s your secret? A: Well, being a Sagittarius probably helps! I do my best to dwell on positive thoughts, no matter what. It’s so freeing just to drop the baggage and get over it. Once you master that, focus on being grateful, and appreciate the moment, happiness comes naturally. And I also find the humor in pretty much everything and I love to laugh!
